Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, Book 3)

Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins I debated between two and three stars for this one, and ended up going with three, but it's more like two and a half. In this book, Katniss goes from being a strong female lead to being a whiny, angst-filled robot.

When I started The Hunger Games, I was so excited for a YA book to actually have a female main character who persevered against the odds, who knew how to provide for her family, who had strength of character, and who didn't need a boy to make her life complete.

That girl is gone in this book. Reading Mockingjay, I had flashbacks to Bella in Twilight, and that's not a good thing. At all.

Overall, this was a disappointing end to what started out as an original and entertaining series.
