Libriomancer: (Magic Ex Libris Book 1)

Libriomancer - Jim C. Hines I really enjoyed this book up until the very last chapter. That was meh, but I'm not going to knock off a star for it. It will, however, possibly impact how much I enjoy the sequel.

Libriomancer is packed with book references, so you feel like you're sharing a secret with the main character when he reaches into a book you've read and pulls out something awesome. It doesn't hurt that Isaac specializes in SF/F books, as the genre will likely be well-read by most readers of Libriomancer.

The world-building is solid and it seems like a lot of thought went into the magical rules and limitations.

I will definitely pick up the sequel, but we'll have to see how Issac's relationship pans out, because I'm generally not a fan of where it seems to be heading.
